How To Make A Chair Hammock

If you are looking forward to relaxing outside on a lazy afternoon, lying outside in the sun will do

just fine. Well, here are some useful guidelines of how to make a chair hammock that is mid-sized and suitable for just about anybody in the family. Give yourself about two and a half hours to enable the construction.

Take your canvas and finish all of the four corners by folding about an inch of the material on any single side of your hammock. Next, you have to sew all the folded edges and ensure it is fastened well enough before repeating this process with the other three sides of the material. Do this carefully and make sure the sides do not become disentangled and come out.

On either of the tips of it, fold the material in such a way that it creates a pipe shape. Ensure this space is large enough so as to enable you to slide a rope into it and come out through the other side. Make sure it is not too large, a measurement of about an inch is sufficient enough. Repeat this process on the other tip of the material so that both sides have rope coming out of them.

Next you need to cut two separate pieces of rope into two using a pair of scissors. Choose a suitable location, most likely either in the yard or a garden. Place it between two trees or you can set up a pair of poles to hold it in place.

The first piece of rope should be twice the distance between the tree or pole and the head of your hammock. This is to ensure there is enough rope to tie around the tree and fasten it. The same should be done at the foot of the material.

Push one of the pieces of the rope through the tube loop at the tip of your material. Do the same on the other end then position it appropriately. Then fasten it to the tree or pole, making sure it is tight enough and well tied so that it does not send you scrambling down. This is an easy process of how to make a chair hammock.
