then you need to use strong hammocks for kids, the Pawley's Island Quilted Hammock is just for you. In today's hectic paced lifestyle, it is always nice to be able to take some time out to relax and get away from the hectic rush of modern day living.

This company has a long history of producing the finest hammocks and they still pride themselves on their workmanship after all this time. Tradition is a word that comes to mind when people think of these hammocks.

Many people are still buying them after all this time even though the first one was fashioned more than one hundred years ago. It is reported that a riverboat captain fashioned himself a cotton rope bed to sleep on at nights while he was out on the water. This proves that this product has withstood the test of time, making them perfect hammocks for kids.

The company has enjoyed success not by changing with the times, but rather by sticking to an age old proven formula. The design is pretty much the same as that first one on the boat with some enhancements to the materials that are used. This is why they are proud of the fact that they are original if nothing else.

The riverboat captain was struggling to sleep on the grass beds, as they were very hot. Other sailors had used hammocks to sleep, however as they were made from canvass they were incredibly rough and they were still too hot to sleep on. The captain then figured if he made something out of rope it would be much cooler than grass or canvas.

There were two challenges however, one was that the knots in the rope were uncomfortable and the other was that as the rope was often of poor quality, it could give way and the users could fall to the floor. The captain then started experimenting with this to try to get rid of the knots and to find a way to make it more stable.

Eventually, he fashioned something out of heavy cotton rope using a double latch weave. This way the ropes pull against one another making them more comfortable for adults and kids, creating a lattice like design, and making them a suitable type of hammocks for kids.

The first shop opened in 1935 in South Carolina and it still going strong today. The captains family was responsible for marketing the beds. The rest as they say is history and today many homes have Pawley's Island Quilted Hammock in their yards.
